Zeitgeist are flautist, Dorothea Seel and harpsichordist, Sharona Joshua.

Dorothea Seel graduated with distinction from Salzburg Mozarteum in 1995 with Irena Grafenauer. She appeared as soloist with the Mozarteum Orchester, and has given Chamber music performances with members of the Chamber Orchestra of Europe. She has been a regular principal player in England with the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment, London Classical Players, English Concert, London Baroque, Hanover Band and the New London Consort. She appeared as soloist in Japan, New York, New Zealand and Europe and appeared at many major festivals including the Proms and Salzburg Festival, with Simon Rattle, Trevor Pinnock, R Muti, R Norrington and has broadcast for many of Europe's leading classical radio stations.

Sharona Joshua was born in Israel in 1972. She began playing the piano at the age of five, and received her final diploma from Haifa Conservatory at the age of 14. At the Tel-Aviv Rubin Academy of Music she studied with Alexander Volkov. She has given many solo and chamber music recitals in Israel, and since coming to England in 1996 has appeared as fortepiano soloist at the Aldeburgh Early Music, Spitalfields and Southwark Festivals. In December 1998 she gave her first solo harpsichord recital at the Purcell Room, and has twice been a guest on Radio 3's In Tune.

The Memorial Hall hosted Zeitgeist: a relatively sparse crowd were rewarded with gorgeous readings of Bach sonatas from this fine flute-and-harpsichord duo. We still haven't cracked the secret of attracting a sizeable audience for classical music...
