Cantaloop make a return visit to Tregaron four years after their debut at the very first Easter Arts Festival in the town. The band play a brand of music that they characterise as Nu-Funk - a potent blend of the best elements of Hip-Hop and Funk. Fronted by the twin engined V12 Hip-Hop Rap attack of Dannie Sanderson and TRM, and with a backing band that burns funk into your soul, Cantaloop will have the dance floor grooving and grinding, and your vocal chords rattling for days!
Featuring Justin Metti (guitar), Keiran Doherty (bass), James Randle (drums) and Jonny Dee (sax), Cantaloop are the original pioneers of Nu-Funk, and are renowned as one of the finest acts in the UK, with an unmissable, critically acclaimed live show. They have built up a considerable fan base, not only in the UK, but also in Europe, with tours supporting The Fun Lovin Criminals and Roy Ayers, and appearances at Glastonbury and the Montreux Jazz Festival.

Cantaloop have just released their debut album, Sensitize, and the accompanying video has been showcased on The Base, the Carlton TV show hosted by Radio One's Emma B. They are an exciting and original British band who really are a breath of fresh air on today's music scene.

Review
Tpnight brought a welcome return visit, after 4 years, of Cantaloop.
Any of us (self included) who thought hip-hop and rap were a little outside our sphere of interest were soon thinking again: this stunning West Midlands outfit are first and foremost a red hot funk dance band. Audience participation was a prime consideration, with a packed dance floor proving the irresistible nature of great vocals from Danny G and TRM, a massive rhythm section with rib-rattling bass, and a sax player who'd give Michael Brecker or David Sanborn a run for their money any time. Humour ('Honey I Funked the Kids') and some great melodies (title track from their new CD, 'Sensitize') left the crowd hollering for more, and plentiful CD sales were further proof of a real crowd-pleasing show. They will return, be sure of it...
